Rohrs Family

Throughout this shoot,  I caught myself still wanting to call Amanda, Pud!!  While I know she doesn't mind, it just feels more right to call her 'Amanda' now that we're all grown up:)  For the longest time though, the exact opposite was true.  Knowing her through basketball camps growing up, and then high school; I don't think I ever called Pud, Amanda (let alone even know that was her name until high school:)!!

So anyways, Amanda contacted me after doing my first official shoot with my friend's kids.  Her exact comment was, "What do you think about getting 5 kids to take pictures this good?!!?" My immediate thought: Let's do this!!  So come 'game day', I snapped away on my camera like a mad woman (way more than I needed to).
I think I was nervous about owning up to those words & getting those perfect shots! I've also never done an immediate family this big.  Well, no need.  Her children were absolutely PERFECT.  Seriously, they were the most well behaved & cutest posers ever!

Okay, okay...on with the shoot & to see some stinking cute pictures!

I wanted to do a picture where Amanda was off to the side just relaxing while Brooks wass being bombarded by the kids!!  I LOVE how this turned out:) **It looks like they're missing a kid here, but she's in the back & believe me, all 5 did their job well!!

And finally... a few pictures of sweet little Cora who just turned ONE!! Isn't she adorable?!!

While I could easily keep posting more of their pictures here on the blog, I'll save them for the Rohr's GALLERY!!

Thank you Amanda for asking & believing in me to take pictures of your adorable family! I had fun capturing their cuteness!

Moore Extended Family

Welcome to fall shoots where (I guess) unpredictably cold & breezy weather is a must!  At least those Moore kids & grandkids are used to it from their last shoot!  ** I think that's your last shoot for the year...unless you want to get together next weekend:)

When Linda asked me to take pictures of her and Mike's families back at the cabin Mike built; I honestly thought is was going to be a tree fort of some sort.  I was very surprised about the size and coolness of it! This was no tree fort!  And, Mike built it!  Yes, super cool!  I can tell this family has already made some life-long memories back here!! With a bonfire going, chili on the generator-powered cooker, and a huge gorilla to boot; how couldn't you have a great time?!  Shooting back here was the perfect site for them!

These first pictures showcase their outdoor sides for sure!
I was initially worried that all you would see were legs & heads from all the camo, but I'd say they turned out pretty well!!

Shooting grand-kids with grandparents is probably my favorite when doing extended families.  Always so unpredictable & fun!  P.S. Everyone needs a gorilla in their woods!!

And finally, a few candid shots to capture what life normally looks like when they are hanging out back here.

Thank you Linda for allowing me to experience a slice of the Moore cabin in the woods!! I hope you enjoy your pictures for a lifetime!

Last year, I briefly ran into Sally at Central Lutheran School!  Ironically, this is where most of our connection from the past resides.   Sally and I were in the same class (of '97) & played sports together at Central, and I really hadn't seen her since.  To my pleasant surprise, Sally contacted me on Facebook to take her family portraits!! Of course, I would LOVE to!

We met downtown, and I was blown away by the trees in Headwaters Park!  The leaves were surprisingly very vibrant and beautiful.  Being just the beginning of fall, most trees around hadn't turned yet.

Immediately, I was very excited about the first shots taken!

Corcoran- 10 Yr. Anniversary + Family

Due to a busy shoot schedule over the past few weeks, I haven't been able to work on pictures from the Corcoran shoot.  I have to say...it's been so fun going back and looking at them! I fell in love with their pictures all over again!

I really enjoyed the opportunity to head up to Hamilton to the Corcoran residence!  First off, it is absolutely gorgeous!  We tried to figure out why I hadn't been there before??  I worked with Megan at Ober, and several times they had people over. Somehow, I was never able to make it.   On another side note, when Jeremy asked which of my teacher friends I was talking about, I described Megan by actually describing her husband, Dave.  ME: "You know, he's the one who was the entertainer at our Ober Christmas parties. The one who sang! That is Megan's husband!"   JEREMY: "Yep, I know who."  :)

Anyways, their home is definitely a place for Dave & Megan to entertain...and a BEAUTIFUL place to take pictures!  I feel like I could have done 10 different shoots there!

Much to my surprise and benefit, the sun was hitting the trees just perfectly for a beautiful background.  And I'm LOVING the results!

These next shots of mom with her kiddos are priceless!!  Like I told Megan, how many times are moms actually out from behind the camera and IN the pictures?  Being a mom myself, these just melt my heart!

10 years ago, Dave & Megan said 'I DO!' right here at their house!  After a lot of remodeling, having 2 beautiful children, &....life, I'd say they're doing pretty great!  HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!

Thank you Dave & Megan for inviting me to your home to take pictures of your amazing family!!

Nancy- Family of 19!

There is a first for everything... and it was DEFINITELY a first for me to take a picture involving 19 people!  And with most firsts, there is often a lot to be learned.  That. I certainly did.  Managing 19 people was surprisingly the easy part for me!  It was getting used to some new camera settings while juggling framing, focusing issues, oh....and the wind, that was a new and fun experience for me!

Now....I go way back with this family to some elementary school memories (let's just say the names Jake and Charlie:).  Then, more recently... coaching club volleyball, teaching Sunday school class, church, and so on.  I'm grateful for the comfort and trust that goes along with knowing them!  Being comfortable and natural (on both of our ends) really helped in producing some great shots!

And to top it off, it doesn't hurt that they're a darn good looking group!

These next couple of shots just flat out make me smile!   While I'm definitely going to get those posed shots for a family; I have to admit, those candid shots that really show YOU are BY FAR my favorite!!!  Here are just some that I am enjoying...and YES this family has some serious fun!

Thank you Nancy for asking me to come capture some memories for your family!  Despite the awkwardly windy & cold night; I feel we came away with some winner shots!!  I hope you can enjoy these pictures for years to come!
